PowerPoint Builder: Data Source & Visualization

Overview

In this article we will learn how to create different slide sets in Compusense PowerPoint report builder and what options are available in different set types. A set can have one slide or multiple slides, depending on the type selected and the amount of data included in the report.

Before we begin:
  1. Open the PowerPoint report builder and open a recent collection, or open a saved collection, or create a new report collection.

  2. Update the report details as necessary.

  3. In the PowerPoint report builder screen:
    1. If you are editing an existing set, click the set you wish to edit to expand it.

    2. If you are creating a new set, click Add set


  4. Every slide set has the following common options:
    1. Set name. Enter the name for your set of slides. This name will be visible in the PowerPoint report builder screen you are currently in, and it will be a title on the first slide of the set you are creating.

    2. Set type. Select from the list of available set types to build a set of slides that meets your reporting needs. 


  5. Each set type has its own specific options, as described further in this article. Use the Table of Contents on the right for faster navigation.


Set Type: Information

This slide set type is designed to provide a slide in your PowerPoint report where you will be able to manually enter any information you need. Typically this would be the first slide, but it does not have to. You can add multiple information set slide types throughout your report.


Information set type specific option:
Subtitle. Enter text in this field to display it below the Set name in the report.




Set Type: Sample

This set type typically generates a single slide. However, if you include a large number of samples or you add many custom sample fields to the report, multiple slides containing sample information may be generated.

Sample set type specific options:

  1. Blinding code. Deselected by default. When selected (checked), the Blinding Code column is displayed in the report, listing the sample blinding codes as set in the Samples & design tab of your test. Below are example images from a Standard test type and a Triangle test type.
                 

  2. Sample type. Selected by default. This option displays the Sample Type column in the report, listing the sample types exactly as they appeared in the test, in the Samples & design tab at the time the report was generated.

  3. Sample number. Selected by default. This option displays the Sample # column in the report, listing the sample numbers in the order they appeared in the test, in the Samples & design tab at the time the report was generated. 

  4. Sample name. Selected by default. This option displays the Sample Name column in the report, listing the sample names exactly as they appeared in the test, in the Samples & design tab at the time the report was generated.

  5. Sample custom fields. Deselected by default. When selected (checked), this checkbox will automatically check all the custom sample fields listed below it. 

    This list may include one, several, or many items, which depends on what is currently available in your Products library. Our example image above shows three custom sample fields: "Batch Number", "Concentration %", and "Date Produced". Your subscription may or may not have these exact custom sample fields. If you would like to add new custom sample fields to your Products library, please contact our Support Team.

    This list is independent of whether any custom sample fields were used within your test. That means that you can select all fields available to you, but only those fields that were added to the test/section in the Samples & design tab will populate this slide when generating the report. This is useful because your PowerPoint report collection can be used on many different tests and when all custom sample fields are selected, you do not have to worry about forgetting to select the right ones included in the test you are generating the report for.


Set Type: Graph: Crosstabulations

This slide set type generates slides containing crosstabulation graphs for compatible question types based on settings that you chose.  


Crosstabulations set type specific options:

  1. Question details. By default, all compatible question types will be graphed. Click Add set rule to narrow down specific questions you wish to include in the graph. You can add one or multiple rules. When adding multiple rules, you can use "And" or "Or" operators to broaden or narrow down your criteria. 
    1. Question type. Choose between the operator options outlined below and specify in the question type dropdown list the question type that the criterion should compare against:
      1. Is. Select if you want to include in the report all the compatible questions that are the type you select in the question type dropdown list.

      2. Is not. Select if you do not want to include in the report questions that are the type you select in the question type dropdown list even if they are compatible with the report.

      3. Question types. Select from the list of question types compatible with the PowerPoint report builder to complete your rule setup:
        1. Agree/Disagree
        2. Intensity
        3. JAR
        4. Liking
        5. Purchase intent
        6. Check all that apply
        7. Choose n
        8. Choose only 1
        9. Line scale
        10. Rank all
        11. Rank n
        12. Comment
        13. LMS
        14. Numeric
        15. Triangle
        16. Tetrad

          This list is independent of what is available in the test you are currently in because the collection you are building might be used on various different test types in the future. 

          If you wish to remove a rule, click on the trashcan icon.

    2. Question name. Choose between the operator options outlined below and specify in the empty box a (not case sensitive) text that the criterion should compare against in question names:
      1. Contains. Include in the report all compatible questions that contain in their names the text you specified.

        For example, you might want to include only all questions that have the word "Texture" in their names.

      2. Does not contain. Include in the report all compatible questions that do not contain in their names the text you specified.

        For example, you might have multiple sample related Choose questions in your test, one of which is asking panelists to confirm whether the sample blinding code they received matches what they see on the screen. In your PowerPoint report you do not need this sample confirmation question to be included. In that case, you could specify a set rule as follows without checking what the exact question name is:


      3. Is. Include in the report all compatible questions that have their names match the text you specified in its entirety.

      4. Is not. Include in the report all compatible questions whose names do not match the text you specified.

        From our previous example, if the exact question name name is "Correct Sample?", you could specify the rule this way:


        If you wish to remove a rule, click on the trashcan icon.

  2. Graph type. The default graph type is set to Bars. Click on the list to make a change as needed. The list items outlined below are specific to the Crosstabulations graphs:
    1. Columns
    2. Bars
    3. Pie
    4. Stacked columns
    5. Stacked bars

  1. Data display. These settings control how the data is displayed in graphs.

    1. Show values. Default selection. Controls whether crosstabulation values are displayed or not.

    2. Plot data by. Specify whether you wish to plot the data by counts of percentages. Count is the default selection.

    3. Label data by. Specify whether you wish to label the data by text (for example, "Dislike Extremely" through "Like Extremely") or value (for example, 1 through 9). Text is the default selection.

  2. Chart options. These settings allow you to customize the appearance, structure, and behavior of a chart.
    1. Show legend. Default selection. Controls whether the legend is included in the chart or not.

    2. Reverse row order. Specify whether you wish the scale values to be ordered from lowest to highest, or vice versa. The default is from lowest to highest.

    3. Samples on axis. Specify whether you wish to generate graphs with samples on axis or in the legend. The default is samples in the legend.


  3. Graphs per slide. Specify how many graphs you wish to display per slide. The options are 1 through 4, and the default is 1 graph per slide. Even if your test does not have data compatible with multiple graphs per slide, the slide will display graphs according to the selection made, leaving parts of the graph that do not have anything to display blank.


  4. Scale min. The default is set to 0. Enter a different value as desired or select Auto to enable the software to control the scale minimum value. When Auto is selected, the scale minimum value might change depending on the number of graphs per slide that you chose in the previous step, and depending on the data for each graph.

  5. Scale max. The default is set to Auto, which sets the scale maximum value to the next nearest rounded up value for each graph. This can potentially create graphs with different value range from other graphs in the set, depending on the data for each graph. 

    Deselect Auto and enter the scale maximum value to unify the maximum values on all crosstabulation graphs.

  6. Exclude incomplete sample sets. By default, all results (complete and partial) are included in the PowerPoint analysis. Before generating any of the reports (not just PowerPoint report), you can filter incomplete sample sets out from all analysis. However, you might be interested in keeping partial results for some of your slide sets in the PowerPoint report and removing partial results from other slide sets. In that case, use this checkbox to control whether partial results are included in the Crosstabulation graphs in your PowerPoint report or not.


Set Type: Graph: Discrimination



Depending on the settings that you chose, this slide set type can contain the following details:
  1. Discrimination difference statement in the graph title.

  2. Legend.

  3. Counts or percentage graph  for correct and incorrect responses.

  4. Difference threshold in the slide footer

Discrimination set type specific options:


  1. Question details. By default, all compatible question types will be graphed. Since the nature of Discrimination tests is such that only one Discrimination question can be added to a test, you can ignore the rules feature here. Very likely setting any rules would either make no difference on the output or would cause empty report, depending on what you select.

  2. Graph type. The default graph type is Pie. Click on the list to make a change as needed. The list items outlined below are specific to the Discrimination graphs:
    1. Columns
    2. Bars
    3. Pie

  3. Data display. These settings control how the data is displayed in graphs.
    1. Show values. Deselected by default. Controls whether the counts or percentages values are displayed or not. 

    2. Include discrimination difference statement. Default selection. Controls whether the discrimination difference statement is displayed in the slide title or not. 

  4. Chart options > Show legend. Default selection. Controls whether the legend is included in the chart or not.

  5. Graphs per slide. Specify how many graphs you wish to display per slide. The options are 1 through 4, and the default is 1 graph per slide. Even if your test does not have data compatible with multiple graphs per slide, the slide will display graphs according to the selection made, leaving parts of the graph that do not have anything to display blank.

    In our example image below, we have blank space on the right because there was only one Tetrad question in the test and we selected to display 4 graphs per slide. 


  6. Scale min. The default is set to 0. Enter a different value as desired or select Auto to enable the software to control the scale minimum value. When Auto is selected, the minimum scale value may adjust automatically based on the number of graphs per slide chosen in the previous step, as well as the data in each graph.

  7. Scale max. The default is set to Auto, which sets the scale maximum value to the next nearest rounded up value for each graph. This can potentially create graphs with different value range from other graphs in the set, depending on the data for each graph. 

    Deselect Auto and enter the scale maximum value to unify the maximum values on all Discrimination graphs.

  8. Exclude incomplete sample sets. By default, all results (complete and partial) are included in the PowerPoint analysis. Before generating any of the reports (not just PowerPoint report), you can filter incomplete sample sets out from all analysis. However, you might be interested in keeping partial results for some of your slide sets in the PowerPoint report and removing partial results from other slide sets. In that case, do not use the Filters feature, but instead use this checkbox to control whether partial results are specifically included in the Rank sums graphs in your PowerPoint report or not.

  9. Number of decimal places. Select from 0 through 4. The default selection is 1.


  10. Use ASTM discrimination analysis. Default selection. Control whether you wish to use:
    1. ASTM discrimination analysis (a Difference and/or an Equivalence test). This is a statistical non-inferiority test (which in this case is a binomial test of the lower tail) and it aligns with the ASTM standard E3009-23a.

      -or

    2. Discrimination analysis (a Difference and/or a Similarity test). This analysis follows the formulas published in the Sensory evaluation techniques by Meilgaard et al. This analysis has been included in Compusense since this test type was originally implemented in Compusense.

  11. Alpha. The default Alpha value is set to 0.05. Enter a value that best suits your analysis needs.

  12. d-prime. The default Alpha value is set to 1.205. Enter a value that best suits your analysis needs.


Set Type: Graph: Means


This slide set type generates slides containing means graphs for compatible question types based on settings that you chose. Our example image includes Error bars in the graph.


Means set type specific options:


  1. Question details. By default, all compatible question types will be graphed. Click Add set rule to narrow down specific questions you wish to include in the graph. You can add one or multiple rules. When adding multiple rules, you can use "And" or "Or" operators to broaden or narrow down your criteria. 
    1. Question type. Choose between the operator options outlined below and specify in the question type dropdown list the question type that the criterion should compare against:
      1. Is. Select if you want to include in the report all the compatible questions that are the type you select in the question type dropdown list.

      2. Is not. Select if you do not want to include in the report questions that are the type you select in the question type dropdown list even if they are compatible with the report.

      3. Question types. Select from the list of question types compatible with the PowerPoint report builder to complete your rule setup:
        1. Agree/Disagree
        2. Intensity
        3. JAR
        4. Liking
        5. Purchase intent
        6. Check all that apply
        7. Choose n
        8. Choose only 1
        9. Line scale
        10. Rank all
        11. Rank n
        12. Comment
        13. LMS
        14. Numeric
        15. Triangle
        16. Tetrad

          This list is independent of what is available in the test you are currently in because the collection you are building might be used on various different test types in the future.

        For example, you might want to include only all questions that have the word "Texture" in their names.

      2. Does not contain. Include in the report all compatible questions that do not contain in their names the text you specified.

        For example, you might have sample related Choose questions in your test one of which is asking panelists to confirm whether the sample blinding code they received matches what they see on the screen. In your PowerPoint report you do not need this sample confirmation question to be included with other Choose questions that are relevant for your analysis. In that case, you could specify a set rule as follows without checking what the exact question name is:


      3. Is. Include in the report all compatible questions that have their names match the text you specified in its entirety.

      4. Is not. Include in the report all compatible questions whose names do not match the text you specified.

        From our previous example, if the exact question name name is "Correct Sample?", you could specify the rule this way:

  2. Graph type. The default graph type is Columns. Click on the list to make a change as needed. The list items outlined below are specific to the Means graphs:
    1. Columns
    2. Bars
    3. Radar

  3. Data display. These settings control how the data is displayed in graphs.

    1. Show values. Deselected by default. Controls whether the mean values are displayed or not. 

    2. Show comparison letters. Default selection. Controls whether the comparison letters are displayed or not. Depending on the analysis type selected, the comparison letters could be post hoc letters or t-test letters.

      This setting is not compatible with the Radar graph type.

  4. Chart options. These settings allow you to customize the appearance, structure, and behavior of a chart.
    1. Show legend. Default selection. Controls whether the legend is included in the chart or not.

    2. Include error bars. Deselected by default. Error bars represent the standard deviation, showing how much individual data points deviate from the mean.


      This setting is not compatible with the Radar and Pie graph types.

  5. Graphs per slide. Specify how many graphs you wish to display per slide. The options are 1 through 4, and the default is 1 graph per slide. Even if your test does not have data compatible with multiple graphs per slide, the slide will display graphs according to the selection made, leaving parts of the graph that do not have anything to display blank.

    In our example image below, we have blank space on the right because the "Overall" question was the odd number. Other questions were displayed two per slide, but this one had no other questions to pair up with.


  6. Scale min. The default is set to 0. Enter a different value as desired or select Auto to enable the software to control the scale minimum value. When Auto is selected, the scale minimum value might change depending on the number of graphs per slide that you chose in the previous step, and depending on the data for each graph.

  7. Scale max. The default is set to Auto, which sets the scale maximum value to the next nearest rounded up value for each graph. This can potentially create graphs with different value range from other graphs in the set, depending on the data for each graph. 

    Deselect Auto and enter the scale maximum value to unify the maximum values on all Means graphs.

  8. Exclude incomplete sample sets. By default, all results (complete and partial) are included in the PowerPoint analysis. Before generating any of the reports (not just PowerPoint report), you can filter incomplete sample sets out from all analysis. However, you might be interested in keeping partial results for some of your slide sets in the PowerPoint report and removing partial results from other slide sets. In that case, do not use the Filters feature, but instead use this checkbox to control whether partial results are specifically included in the Means graphs in your PowerPoint report or not.

  9. Number of decimal places. Select from 0 through 4. The default selection is 1.


  10. Analysis type. The default selection is Analysis of variance - 2 way

    Choose from the following options:
    1. Means only. The report will generate mean graphs without additional statistical analysis.
    2. Two-sample t-test (unpaired). Compatible with Standard tests and sections containing 2 samples.
    3. Twp-sample t-test (paired). Compatible with Standard tests and sections containing 2 samples.
    4. Analysis of variance - 1 way. Compatible with Standard tests and sections containing at least 1 sample.
    5. Analysis of variance - 1 way repeated measures. Compatible with Standard tests and sections containing at least 1 sample and at least two reps.
    6. Analysis of variance - 2 way. Compatible with Standard tests and sections containing 2+ samples, with or without reps.
    7. Analysis of variance - 2 way with interactions. Compatible with Standard tests and sections containing 2+ samples and at least two reps.
    8. Analysis of variance - 2 way repeated measures. Compatible with Standard tests and sections containing 2+ samples and at least two reps.

  11. Multiple comparison test (post hoc) options. Available only when one of the ANOVA analysis types is selected in the previous step. The default selection is Tukey's HSD, Significance p < 0.05

    Choose from the following options:
    1. Fisher's LSD, Significance p < 0.01
    2. Fisher's LSD, Significance p < 0.05
    3. Fisher's LSD, Significance p < 0.10
    4. Fisher's LSD, Significance p < 0.20
    5. Tukey's HSD, Significance p < 0.01
    6. Tukey's HSD, Significance p < 0.05
    7. Tukey's HSD, Significance p < 0.10
    8. Tukey's HSD, Significance p < 0.15
    9. Duncan's Multiple Range Test, Significance p < 0.01
    10. Duncan's Multiple Range Test, Significance p < 0.05
    11. Duncan's Multiple Range Test, Significance p < 0.10
    12. Student-Newman-Keuls, Significance p < 0.01
    13. Student-Newman-Keuls, Significance p < 0.05
    14. Student-Newman-Keuls, Significance p < 0.10
    15. Dunnett's Test, Significance p < 0.01
    16. Dunnett's Test, Significance p < 0.05
    17. Dunnett's Test, Significance p < 0.10

  12. Alpha. Available only when one of the Two-sample t-test analysis types is selected in the previous step. The default Alpha value is set to 0.05. Enter a value that best suits your analysis needs.


  13. Other analysis options.
    1. Show comparison letters only if analysis is significant. Deselected by default, which displays comparison letters if the Show comparison letters option is selected, regardless of whether there is significant difference or not. When selected (checked), the report will display comparison letters only when there is significant difference. 

    2. Calculate means by averaging data across reps. Deselected by default. In a test with reps, when this option is selected (checked), an average of the data will be calculated across reps for each sample, which creates 1 data point for each sample before running analysis across all samples. When deselected (unchecked), the average is calculated across all samples regardless of whether there are reps in the test or not.

    3. Use conditional interaction term. Deselected by default. Compatible with all analysis types except for the Analysis of variance - 2 way with interactions and Analysis of variance - 2 way repeated measures.



Graph: Rank Sums Set Type



This slide set type generates slides containing visual representation of the analysis for Rank question data, based on settings that you chose. 

Rank sums set type specific options:


  1. Question details. By default, all Ranking question data will be graphed. Click Add set rule to narrow down specific questions you wish to include in the graph. You can add one or multiple rules. When adding multiple rules, you can use "And" or "Or" operators to broaden or narrow down your criteria. 

  2. Question type. Choose between the operator options outlined below and specify in the question type dropdown list the question type that the criterion should compare against:
    1. Is. Select if you want to include in the report all the compatible questions that are the type you select in the question type dropdown list.

    2. Is not. Select if you do not want to include in the report questions that are the type you select in the question type dropdown list even if they are compatible with the report.

    3. Question types. Although in the list you can see all question types compatible with the PowerPoint report builder in general, those that are not compatible with this specific graph will not generate a slide even if you select them. The list includes all question types, regardless of whether they are used in your current test. This ensures compatibility with other slide types and allows for future reuse of your collection in different tests.

      To complete your rule setup, select one of the Rank questions below:
      1. Rank all
      2. Rank n

        If you wish to remove a rule, click on the trashcan icon.

  3. Question name. Choose between the operator options outlined below and specify in the empty box a (not case sensitive) text that the criterion should compare against in question names:


    1. Contains. Include in the report all compatible questions that contain in their names the text you specified.

      For example, although not very common, you might have multiple Rank questions in your test and would want to include only questions that have the word "Texture" in their names.

    2. Does not contain. Include in the report all compatible questions that do not contain in their names the text you specified.

    3. Is. Include in the report all compatible questions that have their names match the text you specified in its entirety.

    4. Is not. Include in the report all compatible questions whose names do not match the text you specified.

      If you wish to remove a rule, click on the trashcan icon.

  4. Graph type. The default graph type is set to Stacked columns. Click on the list to make a change as needed. The list items outlined below are specific to the Rank sums graphs:
    1. Stacked columns
    2. Stacked bars
    3. Stacked column line combo


  5. Data display. These settings control how the data is displayed in graphs.


    1. Show values. Deselected by default. Controls whether the rank totals are displayed or not.

    2. Show comparison letters. Default selection. Controls whether the comparison letters are displayed or not. Depending on the analysis type selected, the comparison letters could be post hoc letters or t-test letters.

  6. Chart options > Show legend. Default selection. Controls whether the legend is included in the chart or not.

  7. Graphs per slide. Specify how many graphs you wish to display per slide. The options are 1 through 4, and the default is 1 graph per slide. Even if your test does not have data compatible with multiple graphs per slide, the slide will display graphs according to the selection made, leaving parts of the graph that do not have anything to display blank.

    3. Fisher's LSD, Significance p < 0.10
    4. Fisher's LSD, Significance p < 0.20

    6. Tukey's HSD, Significance p < 0.05
    7. Tukey's HSD, Significance p < 0.10
    8. Tukey's HSD, Significance p < 0.15

  13. Show comparison letters only if analysis is significant. Deselected by default, which displays comparison letters if the Show comparison letters option is selected, regardless of whether there is significant difference or not. When selected (checked), the report will display comparison letters only when there is significant difference.


Comments Set Type

This slide set type generates slides that display comment verbatim in a table format, based on the settings you selected.

The image below is an example of a comments table from a sample related Comment question.


  1. The sample name and number in round brackets are appended to the slide title (if this option was selected when building the report).

  2. The question name is in the table header, in the comment column.

Below is an example of a comments table from a non-sample related Comment question.


  1. The "Not Sample Related" text is appended to the slide title (if this option was selected when building the report).

  2. The question name is in the table header, in the comment column.


Below are examples of comments tables from a Discrimination test (Tetrad). When the Comment question is set up to be test related, the comments will generate on different slides based on whether the discrimination test answers were correct or incorrect. 



  1. The "correct response related comments" text is appended to the slide title (if this option was selected when building the report) for comments coming from panelists who correctly answered the discrimination test.

    The "incorrect response related comments" text is appended to the slide title (if this option was selected when building the report) for comments coming from panelists who incorrectly answered the discrimination test.

  2. The question name is in the table header, in the comment column.


Comments set type specific options:



  1. Question details. By default, all compatible question types will be graphed. Click Add set rule to narrow down specific questions you wish to include in the graph.   1. Sample name & number. Selected by default. This option displays different information in different types of Comments:
    1. In sample related comments, it appends to the slide title the sample name and in round brackets the sample number exactly as they appeared in the test, in the Samples & design tab at the time the report was generated.

    2. In not-sample related comments, the "Not Sample Related" text is appended to the slide title.

    3. In Discrimination test related comments: 
      1. The "correct response related comments" text is appended to the slide title for comments coming from panelists who correctly answered the discrimination test.

      2. The "incorrect response related comments" text is appended to the slide title for comments coming from panelists who incorrectly answered the discrimination test.

  2. Exclude incomplete sample sets. By default, all results (complete and partial) are included in the PowerPoint analysis. Before generating any of the reports (not just PowerPoint report), you can filter incomplete sample sets out from all analysis. However, you might be interested in keeping partial results for some of your slide sets in the PowerPoint report and removing partial results from other slide sets. In that case, use this checkbox to control whether partial results are included in the Comments slides in your PowerPoint report or not.


Summary Table Set Type



This slide set type generates slides with a summarized overview of the analysis in table format, based on the settings you selected.

Summary table set type specific options:

  1. Question details. By default, all compatible question types will be graphed. Click Add set rule to narrow down specific questions you wish to include in the graph. You can add one or multiple rules. When adding multiple rules, you can use "And" or "Or" operators to broaden or narrow down your criteria.
    1. Question type. Choose between the operator options outlined below and specify in the question type dropdown list the question type that the criterion should compare against:
      1. Is. Select if you want to include in the report all the compatible questions that are the type you select in the question type dropdown list.

      2. Is not. Select if you do not want to include in the report questions that are the type you select in the question type dropdown list even if they are compatible with the report.

      3. Question types. Select from the list of question types compatible with the PowerPoint report builder to complete your rule setup:
        1. Agree/Disagree
        2. Intensity
        3. JAR
        4. Liking
        5. Purchase intent
        6. Check all that apply
        7. Choose n
        8. Choose only 1
        9. Line scale
        10. Rank all
        11. Rank n
        12. Comment
        13. LMS
        14. Numeric
        15. Triangle
        16. Tetrad

          This list is independent of what is available in the test you are currently in because the collection you are building might be used on various different test types in the future.

          If you wish to remove a rule, click on the trashcan icon.

    2. Question name. Choose between the operator options outlined below and specify in the empty box a (not case sensitive) text that the criterion should compare against in question names:

      1. Contains. Include in the report all compatible questions that contain in their names the text you specified.

        For example, you might want to include only questions that have the word "Texture" in their names.

      2. Does not contain. Include in the report all compatible questions that do not contain in their names the text you specified.

        For example, you might have multiple sample related Choose questions in your test, one of which is asking panelists to confirm whether the sample blinding code they received matches what they see on the screen. In your PowerPoint report you do not need this sample confirmation question to be included. In that case, you could specify a set rule as follows without checking what the exact question name is:


      3. Is. Include in the report all compatible questions that have their names match the text you specified in its entirety.

      4. Is not. Include in the report all compatible questions whose names do not match the text you specified.

        From our previous example, if the exact question name name is "Correct Sample?", you could specify the rule this way:

  3. Attribute name. Default selection.

  4. Standard deviation. Deselected by default.

  5. Number of evaluations. Deselected by default.

  6. p-value. Default selection.

  7. Post hoc value. Deselected by default.

  8. Mean. Default selection.

  9. Show comparison letters. Default selection.

  10. Targets. Deselected by default.

  11. Range. Deselected by default.

  12. Samples in rows. Deselected by default.

  14. Number of decimal places. Select from 0 through 4. The default selection is 1.


  15. Analysis type. The default selection is Analysis of variance - 2 way

    Choose from the following options:
    1. Means only. The report will generate mean graphs without additional statistical analysis.
    2. Two-sample t-test (unpaired). Compatible with Standard tests and sections containing 2 samples.
    3. Twp-sample t-test (paired). Compatible with Standard tests and sections containing 2 samples.
    4. Analysis of variance - 1 way. Compatible with Standard tests and sections containing at least 1 sample.
    5. Analysis of variance - 1 way repeated measures. Compatible with Standard tests and sections containing at least 1 sample and at least two reps.
    6. Analysis of variance - 2 way. Compatible with Standard tests and sections containing 2+ samples, with or without reps.
    7. Analysis of variance - 2 way with interactions. Compatible with Standard tests and sections containing 2+ samples and at least two reps.
    8. Analysis of variance - 2 way repeated measures. Compatible with Standard tests and sections containing 2+ samples and at least two reps.

  16. Multiple comparison test (post hoc) options. Available only when one of the ANOVA analysis types is selected in the previous step. The default selection is Tukey's HSD, Significance p < 0.05.

    Choose from the following options:
    1. Fisher's LSD, Significance p < 0.01
    2. Fisher's LSD, Significance p < 0.05
    3. Fisher's LSD, Significance p < 0.10
    4. Fisher's LSD, Significance p < 0.20
    5. Tukey's HSD, Significance p < 0.01
    6. Tukey's HSD, Significance p < 0.05
    7. Tukey's HSD, Significance p < 0.10
    8. Tukey's HSD, Significance p < 0.15
    9. Duncan's Multiple Range Test, Significance p < 0.01
    10. Duncan's Multiple Range Test, Significance p < 0.05
    11. Duncan's Multiple Range Test, Significance p < 0.10
    12. Student-Newman-Keuls, Significance p < 0.01
    13. Student-Newman-Keuls, Significance p < 0.05
    14. Student-Newman-Keuls, Significance p < 0.10
    15. Dunnett's Test, Significance p < 0.01
    16. Dunnett's Test, Significance p < 0.05
    17. Dunnett's Test, Significance p < 0.10

  17. Show comparison letters only if analysis is significant. Deselected by default, which displays comparison letters if the Show comparison letters option is selected, regardless of whether there is significant difference or not. When selected (checked), the report will display comparison letters only when there is significant difference.

  18. Calculate means by averaging data across reps. Deselected by default. In a test with reps, when this option is selected (checked), an average of the data will be calculated across reps for each sample, which creates 1 data point for each sample before running analysis across all samples. When deselected (unchecked), the average is calculated across all samples regardless of whether there are reps in the test or not.

  19. Use conditional interaction term. Deselected by default. Compatible with all analysis types except for the Analysis of variance - 2 way with interactions and Analysis of variance - 2 way repeated measures.


There are several actions you can perform once done with building your report:


  1. Save as draft. If you are not completely done building your slide set collection, you can save a draft and return to it later. Click Back to see your draft.

  2. Create my report. When ready to generate a report with the settings you chose, click the Create my report button.

  3. Ribbon. If you wish to save your collection so you and/or others can reuse it in other tests, click the ribbon icon.

  4. Back. If you want to return to the Recently generated or Shared collections tabs, click Back. This action will cancel the progress you may have made in the collection, so be sure to save the draft before browsing away if you wish to save the progress.
