Panelists Library

Panelists Library

Overview

In order to invite panelists to your tests and to otherwise communicate with panelists from our software, the panelists (their records) need to exist in the Panelists library. You can organize your panelists into panels and subpanels.

There are different scenarios when it comes to objectives in panel management. For example:
  1. You might be interested in adding one or two panelists. This task can be efficiently completed by adding the panelists manually.
  2. You have a large panel in another database and would like to transfer them into Compusense. The fastest way to accomplish that is by organizing all the panelist information into a file and import their information into the Panelists library.
  3. You would like to have generic guest panelists to have available for testing and other purposes.
  4. You want to enable panelists to set their own passwords.
  5. You want to be in control of your panelist passwords, etc.
In this workflow you will learn how to create a panel, how to import "real" (or registered) panelists and let them set their own password, import "guest" (or generic) panelists, manually add panelists, update existing panelists, and more.

Add/Delete/Rename a Panel

Most testing is done by registered panelists. The registered panelists need to exist in your Panelists library, in at least one panel. Find out how to manage panels.

Import Real Panelists

Every registered panelist (a real person with their own unique panelist record) has to have a Username and a Password to be able to access the panelist website and participate in your tests. This and other panelist information can be included in your importing file.

There are two ways to import real panelists from a file:
  1. Import panelists without passwords. This will enable panelists to set their own passwords.

  2. Import panelists with passwords. There will be no further action required from panelists regarding the password setup.

  3. Import panelists with 'special' characters. For all languages that use characters not found in English language, follow the workflow that enables you to properly import your panelists' information.
Info
Anonymous testing is also possible, but should be used only if your analysis objective does not require the link between the data and the panelists.

Import Guest Panelists

Generic guest panelists can be used for testing in some scenarios. Follow the workflow for details.

Add Panelists Manually

Sometimes it is just convenient to add one or two panelists manually. Find out how.

Update Panelist Information

Panelist information can be updated in three ways:
  1. Manually. Ideal for individual panelist updates.

  2. From a file retaining their passwords . Ideal for updating more than a few panelists. Passwords will not be updated.

  3. From a file updating their passwords . Ideal for updating more than a few panelists. All information you wish to update, along with the passwords, will be updated.

Reset Panelists Passwords

Panelist passwords can be reset in the following ways:
  1. Manually . You as an analyst reset the password for a panelist.

  2. Panelists reset their own passwords. Explore different scenarios how panelists can reset their own passwords.

Search for Panelists

You may search for panelists:
  1. Within a Test

  2. Within a Panel

  3. Across Panels

Manage Panel Membership

Panelists can be members of one or multiple panels and subpanels. Follow the corresponding workflows to learn how to manage different aspects of panel membership.

Pause and Reactivate Panelists

If you ever need to temporarily deactivate a panelist, instead of deleting them and adding them again later, simply pause them. You can either reactivate them manually or tell the software to do that for you!

Communicating With Panelists

Email communications can be sent to panelists with valid email addresses stored in their records. Review different ways of communicating with panelists and view email history.
  1. Emailing Panelists from a Test

  2. Emailing Panelists from Panelists Library

  3. Email History

Delete Panelists

Panelist records can be deleted, which makes them unavailable in the active panelist searches, but they can still be reactivated if necessary. Panelist records can also be scrubbed (permanently deleted).
