Build: Show Results At End - General Options

Overview

As you are working on your Training & feedback exercise to show to panelists results at the end of their sitting, there are many options to choose from to ensure that the panelist experience meets your objective. On this page we will focus on general options available for this feature.

Workflow for options specific to different question types is also available.

Once you enable the Show results at end feature, the first set of options on the screen are of a general nature, independent of the question types included in the report.
These are the options and their default selections:

This is an example of what panelists will see when default selections are used:

Let's explore what panelists will see when different options are selected. Our examples are focused on specific settings but you can use any combination of them to suit your reporting needs. For example, you can group results by sample, displaying blinding code, and also display panelist code on the report. We will not necessarily cover every single combination of the available options. Here we are focusing on specific settings and their different options.

Group results by sample

Option
Panelist View
Display none
Results will not be grouped by sample when this option is selected. Instead, they will be grouped by attribute and question when Comment question is used.

Display sample name

Display sample blinding code

Display both

Show all panelists' results to all panelists

Option
Panelist View
None
Panelists will be able to see only their results when this option is selected.

Display name
When this option is selected, panelists will see the Display name and results of other panelists. If the Display name is empty in the Panelists library for a panelist, the heading for them will be blank in this report.

Code
Panelist Username, also referred to as Code, will be displayed to all panelists in this report. If you are using panelist email addresses as usernames and panelist privacy is a concern, please do not use this option.

Anonymous
Panelists will be able to see other panelists' responses, but will not be able to see their names or codes when this option is selected.

Allow panelists to highlight standard deviations

Option
Panelist View
Yes
The number entered in a S.D. box (see the image below) initiates a calculation. When the criterion is satisfied, affected rows (samples and attributes) will be highlighted blue. Typically the panel leader would provide the number to the panelists.

Calculation used for this option is outlined below. The # represents the value entered into the S.D. box.

|panel mean - panelist score| > S.D. * #

No
When the option is toggled to No, panelists will not have the ability to highlight rows based on Standard Deviation.

Allow panelists to highlight distance from means

Option
Panelist View
Yes
The number entered in the Mean box (see the image below) initiates a calculation. When the criterion is satisfied, affected rows (samples and attributes) will be highlighted blue. Typically the panel leader would provide the number to the panelists.

Calculation used for this option is outlined below. The # represents the value entered into the Mean box.

|panel mean - panelist score| > #

No
When the option is toggled to No, panelists will not have the ability to highlight rows based on the Mean.

Allow panelists to set a range to highlight

Option
Panelist View
Yes
The number entered in the Range box (see the image below) initiates a calculation. When the criterion is satisfied, affected rows (samples and attributes) will be highlighted blue. Typically the panel leader would provide the number to the panelists.

Calculation used for this option is outlined below. "Panel range" represents the scale usage range for the panel. The # represents the value entered into the Range box.

panel range > #

In our example image, the panel range is 47. It can be useful to display the Range column to panelists through the attribute options.

The LS Flavour attribute is highlighted because 47 > 20 (the value entered in the Range box).

No
When the option is toggled to No, panelists will not have the ability to highlight rows based on the Range.

Value for missing data

This option controls what is displayed to panelists in the report at the end for questions that are seen but not answered. Selections made here will only apply when Answer required is toggled to No in the Question options.

Option
Panelist View
0 (Zero)
Select to display 0 to panelist where data is missing. Comments will display n/a instead of 0 where no comment was provided by a panelist.

NA (Not applicable)
Select to display blank cells to panelist where data is missing. Comments will display n/a instead of blank where no comment was provided by a panelist.
