PowerPoint Report: JAR Scale Question Results
Overview
The PowerPoint report for the
Category scale data provides a visual representation of the responses for each individual Category attribute, for entire Category questions, and across multiple Category questions of the same type. Depending on the Category question type and whether the question was set up as a sample related question or a demographic question, you could see means, counts (crosstabulations), percentages, and top box percentages (only available for JAR data) graphed on separate slides.
On this page you will learn about different graphs available in the PowerPoint report when Category Just About Right (JAR) questions are included in the report.

Title Slide
All PowerPoint reports have the title slide included regardless of the question types included in the analysis.
- Test Name : The name you specified during the test setup in the Overview tab.
Analyst Name and Date : The name of the analyst who created the report, as well as the date the report was generated.
Test Description
The description that was specified during the test setup in the
Overview tab will be on this slide. If the
Description box was blank at the time when the report was generated, the
Test Description slide will not be included in the report.
- Bottom/Middle/Top Percentage Horizontal Stacked Bar graph across questions for each sample.
If you included multiple Category JAR questions in your analysis, a slide that combines the attributes from all of the JAR questions with the same number of points will display a percentage Horizontal Stacked Bar graph for all those attributes for a sample. Each sample will have its own slide with this graph. Each
In our example screenshots below, we can see that in the Build tab, the Crunchiness and Aftertaste JAR attributes were set up as 5-point scales in two separate questions. There were other JAR attributes in this test, but they had either more or less than 5 points in them (as their names in the first screenshot indicate for clarity).

In the graph below, we can see that all attributes from all JAR questions with 5 points are included in the graph.

The slide title will consist of the sample name specified in the Samples & design tab.
The legend displays the bottom 2, middle 1, and top 2 boxes for our 5-pt JAR scale example.
- If a scale has 3 points, then the legend will display bottom 1, middle 1, and top 1.
- If a scale has 7 points, then the legend will display bottom 3, middle 1, and top 3, etc.
This slide will be positioned in the report after the slides with the graphs across Category Intensity and Liking questions, if they were included in the analysis, even if the specific question type had only one attribute.
- Bottom/Middle/Top Percentage Horizontal Stacked Bar graph for each attribute.
Whether your Category JAR question had only one attribute in it or multiple attributes, a Bottom/Middle/Top Percentage Horizontal Stacked Bar graph will be available for each individual attribute, one attribute per slide.
In the graph below, we can see the percentage frequencies for each sample and each collapsed point. The legend displays the actual descriptions specified in the JAR attribute for the bottom and for the top points.
- Column Crosstabulations graph for each attribute.
Every Category JAR question that was included in the analysis will have a Column Crosstabulations graph slide for every individual attribute from that question. The descriptors for each category point will be on the x-axis while the counts of their individual selections will be on the y-axis. The slide title will include the question name followed by the attribute name in the round brackets, followed by "- Crosstabulations" text. The samples are listed in the legend.

- Vertical Stacked Bar Crosstabulations graph for each attribute.
Every Category JAR question that was included in the analysis will have a
Vertical Stacked Bar Crosstabulations graph slide for every individual attribute from
that question. The samples will be on the
x-axis and the slide title is the attribute name. The descriptors for each category point are listed in the legend.
