PowerPoint Report: Category Scale Question Results

PowerPoint Report: Category Scale Question Results

Overview

The PowerPoint Report for the Category scale data provides a visual representation of the responses for each individual Category attribute, for entire Category questions, and across multiple Category questions of the same type. Depending on the Category question type and whether the question was set up as a sample related question or a demographic question, you could see means, counts (crosstabulations), and percentages graphed on separate slides.

On this page you will learn about different graphs available in the PowerPoint report when Category questions that are not Just About Right (JAR) type are included in the report.

Notes
Graphs availability in the PowerPoint report for JAR data can be found in a related article.

Title Slide

All PowerPoint reports have the title slide included regardless of the question types included in the analysis.
  1. Test Name : The name you specified during the test setup in the Overview tab.

  2. Analyst Name and Date : The name of the analyst who created the report, as well as the date the report was generated.

Test Description

The description that was specified during the test setup in the Overview tab will be on this slide. If the Description box was blank at the time when the report was generated, the Test Description slide will not be included in the report.

If you included Category Liking or Category Intensity, or Category Purchase Intent, or Category Agree/Disagree questions, or you included a Category Wheel question into the analysis, there will be different kinds of graphs included in the report specific to these question types. Just about right (JAR) questions have their own sets of slides and graphs because their calculations are different from the other Category question types, and the details specific to the JAR PowerPoint report slides can be found in a related article.

Info
In our examples below we will use the Liking and Intensity Category question types to demonstrate different graphs, but all these graphs are the same also for the Category Purchase Intent, and Category Agree/Disagree questions.

  1. Radar Mean graph across questions.
If you included multiple Category Liking (for example) questions in your analysis that have the same number of points, and if these questions combined had more than two attributes, a slide that combines the attributes from all of the Category Liking questions with the same number of points will display a radar mean graph. The slide title will include the question type followed by the "- Mean Graph" text. The samples are listed in the legend.

In our example screenshot below on the left, we can see that in the Build tab, the Overall Liking is a separate question and all the other liking attributes are in their own question of the Category Liking type. Not shown in the image, but both of these questions were set up with 9pt Liking scales.

In the graph on the right, we can see that all attributes from all Category Liking questions are included in the graph.

This slide will be positioned ahead of Column Mean graph across Liking questions slide, close to the start of the report.

  2. Column Mean graph across questions.
This graph will generate if you included multiple Category questions in your analysis (for example Liking questions), and it combines the attributes from all of the Category questions in it, regardless of whether they all had the same number of points or not, and regardless of how many attributes there are in total.

Below are examples from Category Liking and Category Intensity questions. The Category Intensity slide has a footnote in the bottom left corner indicating that the attributes included in this slide have different number of point values in them.

This slide will be positioned after the Radar mean graph across Liking question, but ahead of all individual question related slides.

  3. Radar Mean graph for each question.
If your Category Liking question, for example, had more than two attributes, a Radar Mean graph will be available for that question. In other words, your Category questions with one or two attributes in them will not have a slide with the radar graph for that question.

The slide title will include the attribute type followed by the "- Mean Graph" text. The samples are listed in the legend.

  4. Column Mean graph for each question.
    1. If your Category Liking question, for example, had only one attribute in it, a Column Mean graph will be available for that question.

    2. If your Category Liking question, for example, had more than one attribute, a Column Mean graph will be available for that question after the slide with the radar mean graph.

  5. Column Crosstabulations graph for each attribute.
Every Category question that was included in the analysis will have a Column Crosstabulations graph slide for every individual attribute from that question. The descriptors for each category point will be on the x-axis while the counts of their individual selections will be on the y-axis. The slide title will include the question name followed by the attribute name in the round brackets, followed by "- Crosstabulations" text. The samples are listed in the legend.
