Same/different Response Related Comment Question
Overview
If you would like to ask panelists for their comments on the samples that they evaluated in a
Same/different test, the template
Same/different test type already comes set up with it! Not only that, it is set up with Connections to display the comment only if panelists indicate that the samples were different. With this setup, the analysis will automatically separate the panelist comments into
Correct and
Incorrect tables.
If by some chance the
Comment question was accidentally removed from your test, you can always set it up properly by following the steps in this workflow.
In your
Same/different test's
Build tab
, add a
Comment
question.
You are able to drag and drop a question to the location of
your choice when adding in a new question to your questionnaire.
You can
also move your question after adding it by using the
Move up
and
Move down
arrows or by using the drag handles, as seen in the images below.

Answer required = Yes. This is optional, but if you are expecting panelists to comment without skipping the question, you have to set the option to Yes.
Show question = Preference related. This selection will ensure that panelists are prompted with one Comment box. If this option is not set, the panelists will get two Comment boxes, one for each of the 2 samples.

- In the Build tab, click Connections > Skip.
- Set the If to your Same/different question.
The Response is should be Selected the Same.
The Then skip should be your comment question.
