Snippets

Overview

A snippet is a piece of commonly used text (with or without images) saved in the Snippets library that can be easily inserted into any of your tests or Schedules as many times as needed. Using snippets can save time by eliminating the need to re-write pieces of text. Snippets can be used for saving instructions, emails and even email signatures. Any text screen in which you see buttons for saving and adding a snippet is compatible with this feature.

Save Text or Email as Snippet

To save a snippet into the Snippets library:
  1. Open an existing text/email, or type your desired text into the text editor/email (or insert a picture or wildcard).

  2. Click Save snippet .

  3. Specify a descriptive snippet name (to make your search easier in the future).
The snippet type will be displayed for your information, but you will not be able to change the type.

  4. Click Save snippet . The snippet will save for the group you were in at the moment you were saving the snippet. This means that the snippet will be available to all analysts that have access to that group.

Use a Saved Snippet

  1. To insert a saved snippet, open the text editor or email where you want to add the snippet. Position the cursor where desired and click Add snippet .
Snippets can be inserted as an addition to an existing text; above, below or in the middle of it.

  2. In the Insert snippet screen, you can do the following:
    1. If the list of available snippets is shot, on the left side of the screen, select the snippet you wish to insert.
The snippet types are automatically filtered according to the screen you are in when trying to insert them. Example, if you are composing an email, only snippets saved from an email screen (as an email snippet type) will be listed. Use the Filters to list other snippet types.

      1. On the right side of the screen, view the snippet's contents to confirm that it is indeed the snippet you were looking for.

      2. Click Insert snippet .

        --or

    2. If the list of available snippets is large, in the Search snippets box, type the keywords you wish to search by. The words entered will search in snippet names and their text (body).

      1. If necessary, use the Filters dropdown to further refine your search. The available snippet types are: Email , Text , and Question .

      2. On the left side of the screen, select the snippet you were looking for.

      3. On the right side of the screen, view the snippet's contents to confirm that it is indeed the snippet you need. If it is not, refine the search.

      4. Click Insert snippet.

    3. To clear all filters, on the far right, click the Reset button. The Snippets list will be populated by all the available snippets regardless of their type.

If you are searching for snippets that only contain images without any text, use the Search snippet feature to search by the snippet name.

Modify Saved Snippets

Saved snippets can be modified in the Snippets library.
  1. From the black ribbon at the top, select Libraries > Snippets .

  2. If the list of available snippets is short, on the left side of the screen, select the snippet you wish to modify.

If the list is large, use the Search snippets and/or Filters feature to narrow down your search. On the left side of the screen, select the snippet you wish to modify.

  3. On the right side of the screen, view the snippet's contents to confirm that it is indeed the snippet you were looking for. If it is not, refine the search.

  4. Click Modify and make the necessary changes to your snippet. When happy with the changes, click Save snippet .

Create Snippets Directly in the Snippets Library

New snippets can be created directly in the Snippets library, not just by saving from within an email or text scree. There are two ways to create a new snippet in the library:

Clone an Existing Snippet:

  4. Click Clone .

  5. In the Clone snippet screen, update the name, select the snippet type, if applicable, select the group you wish to share the snippet with, and make any necessary changes to your snippet body. When happy with the updates, click Clone snippet .

Start With a Blank Snippet:
  1. From the black ribbon at the top, select Libraries > Snippets .

  2. Click Add snippet .

  3. In the Add snippet screen, specify the snippet name, select the snippet type, if applicable, select the group you wish to save the snippet to, and create the snippet body. When happy with the contents, click Add snippet .

Delete Saved Snippets

Saved snippets can be deleted.
Please follow the steps below only if confident that you want to delete a snippet as this action is irreversible.

  1. From the black ribbon at the top, select Libraries > Snippets .

  2. If the list of available snippets is short, on the left side of the screen, select the snippet you wish to delete.

  4. Click Delete > Delete snippet .

Share Snippets with Other Groups

Saved snippets can be shared with coworkers in other groups. In order to follow the steps below you will need to have access to the groups you wish to share the snippets with.
The subscription holder for your company can request the access level change by contacting our Support Team .

  4. Click Clone .

  5. In the Clone snippet screen, update the name, select the snippet type, select the group you wish to share the snippet with, and make the necessary changes to your snippet. When happy with the changes, click Save snippet .

Snippets shared with another group by following the steps above are clones of the original snippet. If you need to share your snippet with additional groups, repeat the steps. Changes made to a snippet in one group will not reflect to clones in other groups - they are independent.
